Andy & Johanna Ferreiras

I had a wonderful time shooting this couple's wedding. Being that it was my first wedding shoot on Front St. in Lahaina, I was really eager to get working.

A couple of days before the wedding, I had the privilege of shooting the couple in a quick "E" session. I can't stress enough how important these sessions are. It really does help make your clients feel at ease in front of the camera. So after the wedding, I received a big thank you from the bride and groom for simply making them feel "comfortable". It is simply amazing how valuable an hour out of your day to help make your clients feel ready can truly be.

I would like to give a warm thank you to Lena from First Class Weddings for coordinating the event flawlessly!

New Things

Hello all! I apologize for not posting in quite some time but hopefully this will help make up for it!

In the past month I have been thinking of new concepts, ideas, ways to improve on what we are already doing and believe me when I say that there is always rome for improvement.

In the works are some new albums, client dvd packaging and many other little things. I am also working really hard on a new a new logo to be used for identity and branding purposes. This is probably the most difficult task that I have assigned myself but I know I can do it!

Next year is going to be a very busy year for me and Beloved but we couldn't be more excited!

I will also finally be taking up a lot of personal projects that have been floating around in my head for quite some time. It should all be very interesting!

In the mean time, have a happy Halloween and be safe!

God Bless,

"Monster Monster"

Tomorrow, one of my favorite bands, The Almost will be launching what I think could be described as a "Pre-order Special" for their upcoming new album titled "Monster Monster".

On October 6, you will be able to purchase the "Monster EP" at your local Hot Topic. The "Monster EP" will feature 3 new tracks off the new album along with 2 b-sides. Now what about the actual album you ask? Well, here is the cool part. When you purchase the "Monster EP" you will have not one but two discs. The first disc will be the "Monster EP" while the other disc will be blank. What! A blank disc!? Not to worry, the blank disc will include a special code in which you can download the entire album the day it releases which is on November 3. Thus removing the need for you to have to rush out to your local store to pick up a copy. Why? Because you already did back in October! Not only that but you received an EP along with the actual album for the same price as the album alone. Confusing? Watch my buddy Aaron of The Almost explain it for you. Take it away Aaron..

So Pretty.

This past week, Beloved Weddings shot a gorgeous wedding for a party of two at the famous Haiku Mill.

When you take the size of Haiku Mill and a wedding party no greater than the bride and groom the first thought you might have would be that this doesn't work.. The big venue, a small party.. WRONG! I have just the photos to prove it.

The music, the flowers, the lighting.. These elements worked out perfect and complimented this lovely couple. In fact, I almost really can't put how pretty this event was into a sentence or two.. You will get to see for yourself soon enough. For now a teaser of sorts.

Makena Rose Portrait Session

This little one is going to be having her birthday next month! So in getting prepared, we decided to give her a small portrait session so that she would appear on the birthday invitations.

This is my 2nd baby portrait session that I have done and already I can tell that these shoots will be nothing short of interesting & fun. No matter what we tried we could not get our cute subject, Makena Rose, to sit still and smile! She is a very curious baby and every time I would pull out the camera you can bet your buttons that she would come straight for it.

The only thing that would keep her entertained were some snacks.. but then she was eating in the photos! I wasn't sure what to do then other than just shoot.

I have learned from almost all of my portrait sessions that it is better to shoot subjects in their natural states as much as you can. When you try to manipulate the subject too much, the subject your shooting loses character.. Because of this I am happy her baby portraits turned out the way they did. I was able to capture who Makena Rose was; an adorable, curious, happy and content child that loves to snack. :)
